You looked real good out of the gate, and then as the fight wore on he pulled ahead. You could tell both of you were green, it got pretty ugly in there, but you put him on the ground more than a fews times! Congrats on going the distance!
Ratchet up the aggression a bit and tighten down on the technique and I think you may have some great bouts ahead.
I think it was a great 1st showing...but I want to know what you think. How are you feeling? Now that you've done it once for real, are you going to stick with it?
Take care and heal up!
Yo dude! I would have to agree with Zac Attack pretty much to a "t". I do like your strategy of girly attire. Pink outfit and a headband? I thought I was going to watch jazzercise or something. Catch you later bro!
First fight ever right? Well here are things that I saw. I really don't know how long you have been training also so if it was only for a very short time then don't take these too heavily. Everything will come with time and practice.
Al kept moving forward (good since he was taller)
Al didn't use any elbows
Al had no knees
Al threw very wild punches
Al needs to parry the tib (push kick)
Al didn't tib much
Al turned his back to his opponent
Al was very tense which threw all that cardio he did out the window.(you foot work said it all)
Al touched gloves with the guy mid round. (thats a no-no since you did get a nice push kick right after.)
All in all you look like a kick boxer Chuck Norris style with a little Muay Thai sprinkled on top. As you train more you'll start using the other 4 weapons ,elbows and knees, a lot more.
You should spar a lot like "omg its been 4 hours since I started sparring?" In sparring you use all the muscles that you would use in a fight which will help you last longer even while you are tense.
Mitch would like to know the profile of the other guy so I know kind what you were up against. I know he was a Thai fighter and he definitely isn't a very conditioned one.
when you get back we're sparring in J9's backyard
yo son...u did awesome! a little more conditioning and keep those punches compact and you will be knockin heads off son! proud of ya!
How about another update...it's been a bit.
